The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
