Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 and no food except pus 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
