The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 And your garments purify! 4 shun uncleanness; 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 and children living in his presence, 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 and who still greedily desires that I should bestow upon him more. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 [and so] I shall constrain him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Behold, [when Our messages are conveyed to one who is bent on denying the truth,] he reflects and meditates [as to how to disprove them] 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 Then he looked round; 21 frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
