By the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 it is a warning to man, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens they will question 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
