Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the morning brightness, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 Verily your Lord will soon give you so amply that you will be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 Did He not find you poor and enrich you? 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11
