The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 raising a trail of dust, 4 Penetrating deep into the armies, 5 Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And indeed, he is to that a witness. 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ Does he not know that on the day when those in the graves are resurrected 9 And the secrets of the breasts are made known, 10 their Lord will examine his deeds? 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
