The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
