Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 The living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
