The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
