The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
