The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who govern the event, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then he mustered 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
