The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
