The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
