The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and gushing water, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For those on the right. 38
