Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In the high empyrean, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
