'Aad denied the messengers 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 126 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 127 "Will you, in your wanton folly, build [idolatrous] altars on every height, 128 and make for yourselves mighty castles, [hoping] that you might become immortal? 129 And when ye seize, ye seize like unto tyrants. 130 So fear God, and obey me; 131 And fear Him Who hath aided you with that which ye know. 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 gardens and fountains. 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They replied: "It is all the same for us whether you admonish us or not. 136 “This is nothing but the tradition of former people.” 137 We will not be subjected to any chastisement." 138 So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 139 And verily thy Lord? He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
