The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
