The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 "Does he promise you that when you have died and have become dust and bones, you shall come out alive (resurrected)? 35 ۞ How far-fetched what you are promised; 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 "He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah, but we are not going to believe in him." 38 He said, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 39 He answered: "A short while, and they shall be repenting." 40 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.). 41 Then, after them, We created other generations. 42 Every nation has an appointed life span. 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 And so they said: "Shall we believe [them] two mortals like ourselves - although their people are our slaves?" 47 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book that people might be guided by it. 49 And [as We exalted Moses, so, too,] We made the son of Mary and his mother a symbol [of Our grace,] and provided for both an abode in a lofty place of lasting restfulness and unsullied springs. 50
