Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 Goblets set, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
