Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Rivalry in worldly increase distracteth you 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 You shall know. 3 Again, no indeed; but soon you shall know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the sight of certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8
