The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Reckoning for mankind is drawing near, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 no Remembrance from their Lord comes to them lately renewed, but they listen to it yet playing, 2 their hearts are diverted. The harmdoers mutter to one another: 'Is this anything else but a human like yourself? What, will you follow sorcery with your eyes open' 3 The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". 4 Nay, but they say: 'A hotchpotch of nightmares! Nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet! Now therefore let him bring us a sign, even as the ancient ones were sent as Messengers.' 5 Before them, not one of the communities which We destroyed believed either. Will these believe? 6 And We sent not before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message if you do not know. 7 And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth]. 8 Then We made good unto them the promise; so We delivered them and those whom We willed, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 We have bestowed upon you a Book that mentions you. Do you not understand? 10
