Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 "Or do they benefit you or harm you?" 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said, "Do you see these - the idols whom you worship?" 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 "And He will give me death, then resurrect me." 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 "My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity." 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 "And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised." 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 "Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound intact or unblemished heart." 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 "By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error." 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
