The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
