Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
