The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 About which they have been differing? 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
