In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 excusing or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed time? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
