Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
And We sent no prophet unto any township but We did afflict its folk with tribulation and adversity that haply they might grow humble. 94 Then We changed adversity into ease until they throve and said: 'Our forefathers had also seen both adversity and prosperity.' So We suddenly seized them without their even perceiving it. 95 And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning." 96 What! do the people of the towns then feel secure from Our punishment coming to them by night while they sleep? 97 Or, do they feel secure against the coming of Our punishment upon them in the forenoon while they are at play? 98 Did they then feel secure against the Plan of Allah. None feels secure from the Plan of Allah except the people who are the losers. 99
