Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood: 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
