The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 by those who reprove severely, 2 and the reciters of a Remembrance, 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 They cannot listen to the speech of those on higher elevations and they are targeted from every side. 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 And heed not when they are reminded, 13 And when they see a sign, they ridicule 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
