Whatever affliction may visit you is for what you own hands have earned; and He pardons much. 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 And among His signs are the ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas: 32 if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). 33 Or He may destroy them because of that which they have earned, and He may pardon many of them. 34 Those who dispute Our verses may know that they have no asylum. 35 AND [remember that] whatever you are given [now] is but for the [passing] enjoyment of life in this world - whereas that which is with God is far better and more enduring. [It shall be given] to all who attain to faith and in their Sustainer place their trust; 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 Who obey the commands of their Lord and fulfil their devotional obligations, whose affairs are settled by mutual consultation, who spend of what We have given them, 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong. 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination. 43
