Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
