The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and brightening morning, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
