1/2 Hizb 33
< random >
۞ Before this We gave Abraham his guidance. We knew him well. 51 When he said to his father and his people, “What are these idols before whom you squat (worshipping)?” 52 They answered: "We found our forefathers worshipping them." 53 He said: assuredly ye, ye and your fathers, have been in error manifest. 54 They said, "Have you brought us the Truth, or are you one of those who jest?" 55 He said: "Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth which He created and to that I bear witness before you. 56 I swear by God I will do something to your idols when you have turned your backs and gone." 57 He broke all the idols into pieces, except the biggest among them so that perhaps people would refer to it. 58 "Who has done this to our deities? He must be a wrongdoer." 59 Some said, "We heard a young man, called Abraham, talking about them." 60 Said they: Then bring him before the eyes of the people, perhaps they may bear witness. 61 They said: Have you done this to our gods, O Ibrahim? 62 He answered: "Nay, it was this one, the biggest of them, that did it: but ask them [yourselves] - provided they can speak!" 63 Thereupon they turned to their (inner) selves and said (to themselves): "Surely it is you who are the wrong-doers." 64 Thereafter they were made to turn over upon their heads, saying, assuredly thou knowest that they speak not. 65 He said, “What! You worship, instead of Allah, one that neither benefits you nor harms you?” 66 Fie upon you and upon that which ye worship beside Allah! Will ye not then reflect? 67 They said: burn him, and succour your gods, if ye will be doing. 68 We said to the fire, "Be cool and peaceful (with Abraham)". 69 They had sought to do evil to him, but We caused them to be the worst losers, 70 And We saved him and Lot [and brought them] to a land which We had blessed for all people, 71 We gave him, in excess, Isaac, and Jacob (for a grandson); and We made each righteous 72 and made them leaders who would guide [others] in accordance with Our behest: for We inspired them [with a will] to do good works, and to be constant in prayer, and to dispense charity: and Us [alone] did they worship. 73 And We gave Lut the kingdom and knowledge, and We rescued him from the township that committed vile deeds; indeed those evil people were disobedient. 74 And We admitted him into Our mercy; indeed he is among those who deserve Our proximity. 75

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
