Samood rejected the warning. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 'They shall surely know tomorrow who is the impudent liar. 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 Tell them that the water is to be divided between them, a drink each for them in turn' 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder. 31 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 32 Lot's people also gave the lie to the warnings, 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 as a favour from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! 36 And assuredly they solicited him for his guests: then We wiped out their eyes: taste then My torment and My warnings. 37 And indeed, abiding suffering did befall them early on the morrow: 38 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 39 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 40
