Moses said: "Lord! Open my breast for me; 25 Make my task easy 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 that they may understand my words. 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 By him confirm my strength 31 and let him share my task, 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said; fear not; verily I shall be with you twain: I shall hear and see. 46 So, go to him, and say: 'Behold, both of us are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not chastise them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; and peace shall be for him who follows the true guidance. 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
