In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 This Scripture is sent down from God, the Mighty and Wise One. 2 In the heavens and the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 3 in your own creation and all the creatures He has spread about, there are signs for people of sure faith; 4 As there are signs in the alternation of night and day, and in rain that God sends with which He revives the earth once dead, as there are in the changing of the winds, for people who can understand. 5 These are the verses of Allah which We recite to you with the truth; so forsaking Allah and His signs, what will they believe in? 6 Woe to every sinful liar! 7 He hears God's revelations being recited to him, yet persists in his arrogance as if he had never heard them. Forewarn him of a painful punishment. 8 And when he learns something of Our Verses (this Quran), he makes them a jest. For such there will be a humiliating torment. 9 Hell is behind them. Their worldly earnings shall not avail them, nor those whom they took as protectors instead of Allah. An awesome chastisement lies in store for them. 10 Such is Our guidance; those who reject their Lord's revelations shall suffer a woeful punishment. 11
