And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready. 18 And death's agony comes in truth; that is what thou wast shunning! 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 'Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.' 22 His companion attendant will say, "I have here his record ready." 23 [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever, 24 every hinderer of the good, transgressor, disquieter, 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 "Do not argue in My presence. I had announced the promise of doom in advance. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
