Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blest be He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over everything Potent. 1 Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 Who created the seven skies one above the other. Do you see any disproportion in the creations of Ar-Rahman? Turn your eyes again. Do you see any fissures? 3 Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. 4 And certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps and We have made these missiles for the Shaitans, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of burning. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the chastisement of Gehenna -- an evil homecoming! 6 When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up. 7 as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say, "Yes, someone did come to warn us, but we rejected him saying, 'God has revealed nothing. You are in great error". 9 And they will add: "Had we but listened [to those warnings,] or [at least] used our own reason, we would not [now] be among those who are destined for the blazing flame!" 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. 13 Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
