The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And the day resplendent 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
