Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 Thy Lord shall give thee, and thou shalt be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 and proclaim the bounties of your Lord. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
