A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Holy is He Who created all things in pairs, whether it be of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 The sun runs to its fixed resting place; that is the decree of the Almighty, the Knower. 38 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark (of Noah). 41 and then created for them other vessels like those on which they ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 Unless by mercy from Us, and as a comfort for a while. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when it is said to them: "Spend of that with which Allah has provided you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He (Himself) would have fed? You are only in a plain error." 47 They also say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak truly?' 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50
