The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Verily your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And when they see an Ayah (a sign, a proof, or an evidence) from Allah, they mock at it. 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 (It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
