And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein. 16 Behold! when the two receivers receive - one on the right hand and one on the left a sitter. 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid. 19 And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 You were heedless of this. Now We have removed your veil and so your vision today is sharp. 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 Cast ye twain into Hell every person rebellious, contumacious. 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 Who set up with Allah another god. So cast him ye twain into the torment severe. 26 ۞ His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. 27 Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat. 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
