And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 the people of Pharaoh: do they have no fear?" 11 He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood: 12 "And my breast straitens, and my tongue expresses not well. So send for Harun (Aaron) (to come along with me). 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
