[AND] the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
