۞ When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 He is naught but a bondman: him We favoured, and him We made an ensample unto the Children of Israil. 59 Had We wanted, We could have made the angels as your successors on the earth. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 Let not Satan hinder you (from believing in the Hour), for surely he is your open enemy. 62 And when (Prophet) Jesus came with clear signs, he said: 'I have come to you with wisdom and to clarify to you some of the matters about which you differ. Fear Allah and obey me. 63 Allah is my Lord and your Lord; therefore, serve Him. That is the Straight Way.” 64 Yet the parties differed among themselves. So woe to those who did evil among the punishment of a Painful Day. 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 67
