The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the declining star, 1 Your companion does not err, nor does he go astray; 2 Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 something that a very mighty one has imparted to him: 5 The Lord of Strength; so he attained completion, 6 And he is in the highest part of the horizon. 7 then came down close 8 Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer, 9 Thus He revealed unto His bondman whatsoever He revealed. 10 His heart added no untruth to what he saw. 11 So will you dispute with him over what he saw? 12 For indeed he saw him at a second descent, 13 to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) 14 near which is the Garden of Abode. 15 When the tree was covered with a covering, 16 His sight did not waver nor was it unduly bold. 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 (Can anything as such be considered true) of al-Lat, al-Uzza, 19 And Manat, the third, the last? 20 What! For you the son, and for Him the daughter? 21 That is indeed an unjust division. 22 These are only names given by yourselves and your fathers. God has not given them any authority. They, (unbelievers), only follow mere conjecture and the desires of their souls, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord. 23 Can the human being have whatever he wishes? 24 Allah's is the last and the first. 25
