Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
