Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 storming tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
