Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So by oath of those, the planets that revolve. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
